Julian Fauth, 2009 Juno award nominee for best blues album, will be performing at the Columbus Community Centre on Saturday.
The event, hosted by the Blues Underground Network, offers a performance by one of the top blues piano players in Canada, said Earl Krushelnicki of the Blues Underground.
Fauth is from Toronto and plays a barrel-house style of piano, Krushelnicki explained.
"It's sort of an old style of music," he said. "He plays the old style with lyrics that are very much from the underbelly of Toronto society. It's very unusual music."
Krushelnicki said Fauth performed at the Railway Music Festival last summer and Fauth was "amazing."
"He was probably the best performer at the music festival," said Krushelnicki. "So we thought we would bring him back for a dance."
Fauth will have a back-up band and the musicians are all local people. Justin Frey will play saxophone along with guitarist Paul Forster, drummer Paul Brett and bassist Curtis Abriel.
Tickets are $25 each, $20 for members of the Blues Underground, at Books & Co.
