John Lee Sanders was nominated for a WC Handy award for song of the year in 2004. The WC Handy awards, now known as the American Blues Awards, are the top Blues awards in the world!
In 2007 he had a song nominated for an Emmy.
He has had his last two cds nominated for Western Canadian Music Awards in 2008 & 2009.
Since Friday, Oct 23 will be our first night at The Legion, we have decided to promote a bring a Friend Night.

Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne
Juno Award Winner - Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne will be returning to Prince George to play Dances on January 21 & 22.
He has received plenty of recognition over the years and 2010 has been no exception. He recently got another Maple Blues nomination for being Canada’s Best Blues Piano Player. An honour he has won several times.
This year he also received a nomination from the #1 International Blues Magazine “Living Blues” for “2010 Blues Piano player of he Year” that recognized him as being one of the Top Five best Blues Piano Players in North America. (Pinetop Perkins was also nominated) Kenny Wayne was selected "2010 Blues Piano Player of the Year" Award presented by the Bay Area Blues and Hall of Fame Society in California
Lindsay Mitchell (the original Lead Guitarist from Prism) will be playing lead guitar with Kenny "Blues Boss" Wayne. Lynday recently earned his Doctorit in "The Blues"

Keith Hallett
Twenty year-old blues guitar player, Keith Hallett of Fredericton, New Brunswick, has been turning heads for a few years now. He has something to say through his music and the audience feels it instantly. Keith has been playing guitar since the age of 13, got into the blues at 15 and has enjoyed studying and playing it ever since. In a very short period of time, Keith has been able to play many festivals and special events such as the Mont Tremblant Blues Festival, the Dutch Mason Blues Festival and Fredericton's prestigious Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival. He has had the opportunity to open for such groups as Grady, Paul Rishell & Annie Raines, Watermelon Slim and the Workers, and has shared the stage with names such as Matt Andersen, Ross Neilsen, Morgan Davis, John Cambelljohn, Thom Swift and The Lee Boys.
Keith's hard work paid off in the form of the 2007 CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award, presented to him during the annual Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival. Keith Hallett's future is a bright one. Loaded with a ton of talent and audiences falling in love with his infective style on a daily basis, he is sure to be around for a long time to entertain us.

The Elmhurst College Jazz Band
Every once and awhile we get an opportunity that we just can’t pass up. The Elmhurst College Jazz Band is a 19 piece Band with a great singer! Elmhurst, Illinois is 30 minutes from Downtown Chicago. Band members need to audition for the band. Check them out at the following internet address.
The Elmhurst College Jazz Band has gained international acclaim as a truly outstanding collegiate jazz ensemble. Under the direction of Doug Beach, the band has received outstanding ratings at jazz festivals from many jazz greats including Clark Terry, Lee Konitz, Conte Candoli, Pete Christlieb, Greg Hopkins, Jiggs Whigham, Rob McConnell, and Bob Brookmeyer.
The band has toured 17 nations and has twice been honored with invitations from the U.S. State Department to tour Europe. Frequent performances with well-known guest artists are a regular part of the band's schedule.
Prior to coming to Prince George they will perform in Calgary and at the Jazz Festival in Victoria.
The band also hosts the annual Elmhurst College Jazz Festival, a major event that attracts the best jazz bands from around the United States and is adjudicated by the greatest names in jazz today. The band has produced numerous recordings, all available on CD.
Blues Underground will donate the majority of the profits to CFIS 93.1 FM

David Gogo " Unplugged"

Although still relatively young in "blues years", David Gogo has accomplished much in his career. So far he has three Juno nominations, was named Musician of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards, was twice named Guitarist of the Year at the Maple Blues Awards, and has been bestowed with the CBC Saturday Night Blues, Great Canadian Blues Award for a lifetime contribution to the blues in Canada.
Nine albums have been released under his name and he has been a guest on a number of other artists recordings. David has composed music for television and major motion pictures and his songs have been performed and recorded by various musicians worldwide.
Whether he’s showcasing his blistering guitar licks and soulful vocals during his electric performances or drawing the crowd in with his humour and down-to-earth personality during his acoustic shows, audiences throughout North America, Europe, and Scandinavia can attest to his outstanding talent

Russell Jackson will be coming to Prince George to do
a dance for Blues Underground on Saturday, January 14th. (One night only!)
At the age of 25 this bass virtuoso had gained such a reputation that in 1979 he was invited to play with the great B.B. King Orchestra where he stayed for the next 7 years and played in some of the most prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Grand Ole Opry and the Smithsonian Institute
In 1986 Russell was admitted to the prestigious Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles where he studied both the acoustic and electric bass under the world renowned tutor Joel DiBartlo. In 1987, Russell was part of the highly acclaimed rhythm section known as Silent Partners and wrote the title track on the critically acclaimed debut album ' If It's All Night, It's All Right' on the Antones label in 1989.
Russell toured and recorded with such blues greats as Charlie Musselwhite, Katie Webster, Matt Murphy, Kenny Neal, Luckey Peterson, Roy Gaines as well as headlining their own dates. After leaving Silent Partners in 1990, Russell relocated to Vancouver,B.C. where he formed The Russell Jackson Band.
In 1991 the group recorded The Alley Man CD on the StoneBluz Label. In 1996, the music video Show Me The Door was released on the Bravo! Network in the U.S and Canada and is still being shown today.
