Julian Fauth March 14, 2009 Toronto, Ontario Julian Fauth (vocals, piano, guitar) blues, roots and 'barrelhouse jazz' JULIAN FAUTH has become a regular session player at many Electro-Fi sessions and in so doing winning the respect of artists like Mel Brown, Billy Boy Arnold, Curley Bridges, Kenny Wayne and Finis Tasby for his command of traditional blues. However – his own releases show an artist with an almost avant garde approach to the blues. An artist with an individualistic style that recognises and appreciates tradition but uses it as a blank canvas on which to paint his own interpretation of the genre – as the critical praise his debut CD “Songs Of Vice & Sorrow” proved, with quotes like “profound and penetrating” and comparisons to Tom Waits and Bob Dylan being common place.
